Frequently Asked Questions
What is the youngest age you enroll?
1
Children as young as 2.5 years can attend LFS. Eligibility is determined on an individual basis, informed primarily by developmental readiness, interest in toileting, and ability to follow simple one- and two-step directions.
Are you a licensed childcare facility?
2
We are a legally unlicensed preschool program due to our specialized activities and the Montessori approach that focuses on individualized education, creative expression, experiential learning, and field experiences in the community.
Do you accept childcare vouchers?
3
Because we are a legally unlicensed preschool, we do not accept NC early childhood vouchers. We do, however, offer robust financial support in the form of community-sponsored tuition.
What is the teacher: student ratio?
4
1: 10 if a teacher is solo, but typically we have a minimum of two staff present with our current group size of ten.
